22 April 2010 - Volcano in Iceland

At VL Travel, we take Travel Insurance very seriously.
We firmly believe that you get what you pay for!

The Eyjafjallajoekull Volcano eruption in Iceland has been creating havoc across the world and caused huge disruption to many people's travel plans.

We have very carefully selected our Travel Insurance partners. Whilst they may not always the cheapest available, once again, you get what you pay for!
There have been reports in the media of passengers stranded overseas and their travel insurance policies do not cover them.

Our principal Travel Insurance Partner, Covermore are treating the eruption as a "Natural Disaster" rather than an "Act of God" and therefore our clients are covered.

In particular:

Additional Accommodation and Travel Expenses
There is provision to cover reasonable additional accommodation and transport expenses if your travel arrangements have been directly affected by the cancellation/ delay of flights due to volcanic ash.

Amendment or Cancellation Costs
If prior to you leaving your home to begin your Journey your travel plans have been directly affected by the flight cancellations/ delays there is provision to claim for Amendment or Cancellation costs.

Stuck Overseas and cannot return home
Customers stuck overseas and cannot return home on their original date due to the volcanic ash will have their travel insurance policies extended free of charge.
