Posted by: Alan

An Online booking site this morning named the top 20 domestic destinations for Australians last year, based on accommodation booked through the site.

Sydney and Melbourne maintained their respective first and second spots in 2010, while the Gold Coast moved to third spot from fourth, bumping Brisbane out of the top three.

Queensland was well represented in the national Top 20 with a total of eight destinations included in the list, up from six in 2009.

New South Wales's representation in the Top 20 dropped from seven destinations to five.

Port Douglas and Airlie Beach were newcomers to this year’s list, up from 27th and 24th respectively, pushing Albury and the Hunter Valley out of the top 20, into 22nd and 26th places.

05 January 2011 - Cooking Off The Beaten Track

Posted by: Alan

Twelve months in the planning, there will soon be released exclusive year-round independent and fully escorted group tour programs, covering food trips in Austria, Hungary, Romania (Transylvania), Slovenia and Russia, which have been put together from scratch.

The programs aim to ride on the back of successful TV series such as Channel Ten’s MasterChef and the popularity of cooking.

There are dozens and dozens of food tours on offer in France, Italy, Greece, Thailand, Vietnam and China, but options in Russia, Romania and Hungary are virtually non existent.

The programs will feature cooking classes, winery visits, tours of local produce markets, 'show kitchens', fine dining, and exclusive highlights like dining with the locals in ancient Transylvanian villages.

Each program is unique and appeals to different clientele.
"It’s not just a few token dinners but loads of experiences and the best of local food".
